On
May 9, 2006 history was made. Right here. Right now.
My dear reader, if you’re reading this, you’ve found
our secret little corner of the DIMP world, an untamed
alternate reality of stuff that is as likely to leave us dazed and confused as it is you.
You have entered Hot Pants. And will never be the same again.
Hot Pants is a great big steaming
pile of all the square pegs we couldn’t fit into
our round holes. (Kinky!) It is the place for bitchin’
swag and awesome giveaways. (‘Cause everyone likes
free stuff.) It is the back room of DIMP where we tackle
things that just don’t fit in with the “movies
and DVDs” focus of our front page. (Which, I should
mention, kicks ass.) In short, it is the place to go
to find all those crazy ideas, features and diversions
our playfully creative staff dream up but which have
no other home.
And what an eclectic batch of ideas it will
be! Even our baby steps are all over the map. We’ve
got staff writer John
Felix bringing us A
Year in Disneyland, an ongoing series detailing
a year of Disneyland trips as only John Felix can. Graphic
artist extraordinaire (and our founder) “lostwire”
gives the world his Papercut
Cinema; you’ll never look at your favorite
film thesame
way after this. Our first batch of DIMP
swag is now available for purchase, letting you
impress friends and family with some spiffy shirts.
Finally, yours truly compares two of the most beloved
works of comics and fantasy literature, respectively,
with Watching
The Rings. And we’re only just getting started.
In the coming days, Hot Pants will bring you
some fantastic contests so keep your eyes open to find out how
you can snatch up some goodies. Our readers will shove DVDs in their pants. And much, much more. We’ll
wax poetic about comics, music, video games, softcore
porn, and just about anything else that strikes our
fancy.
For the last year, has brought you some of the very best DVD reviews and features on the web, all with a style uniquely our own. With
Hot Pants, we’re going to continue to push the
envelope as only we can, leaving no stone of the entertainment
world untouched in our quest to entertain the hell out of you.
We hope you’ll enjoy the ride as much as we’ll
enjoy bringing it to you.
